• 2) Perform a triage to determine the urgency of the case.
• 3) Ask questions and build up the patients anamnesis, order labs and perform examinations with rich media results.
• 4) When ready, give your diagnosis and recommended treatment, but be careful as a wrong decision can worsen the patient's condition or even result in death.

Make Real-Life Decisions

In PatSim you will be presented with real-life materials and test results to help inform your decisions and make the diagnosis process as realistic as possible. From the patients journal you can always review the case and look again at any material you wish.

Just as in real life, every decision you make has a cost - both financial and in time. Balance your decisions to make your diagnosis as effectively as possible without unnecessary tests or examinations. Instant feedback lets you know how you performed against an optimal diagnosis and you can compare your performance to an average of other students.

PatSim gives you instant feedback on your diagnosis and treatment recommendations. If you decide wrongly your actions may result in the patient's condition worsening and you will have to rectify the situation.

You can also ask questions and get deeper feedback from your lecturers directly within PatSim.
